Annual Business Meeting Procedure

 Per our bylaws, we have a business meeting each year in which DBC members vote on the slate of proposed deacons and elders.

It is a very quick process that takes place at the end of the worship service so we can guarantee the necessary quorum. DBC members can pick up paper ballots prior to the worship service that day.

To prepare for this event, our bylaws call for us to present the elder and deacon candidates two weeks prior to the meeting, we also present the proposed budget for the next fiscal year.

We often host an informational meeting a week or two prior to the business meeting so people have opportunity to ask any questions they might have. Our elders are also available to receive questions at any time leading up to the business meeting.

Our 2026 business meeting will be held at the end of the worship service on June 14. Elder and deacon bios will be available beginning May 31 (bios will be emailed out prior to that) and the informational service will be held June 7 after the worship service.

We ask that questions be directed to the elders prior to the business meeting so the actual meeting can take place quickly and seamlessly.
