Life Groups
The purpose of Life Groups is to connect people with people and deepen their faith in Jesus Christ, while the goal is for discipleship to evolve through relationships built in the life group setting. We believe Life Groups are essential for connectivity and personal fellowship. That’s why we use the rotation model of creating new life groups every semester (Fall, Spring, Summer), along with a one-year option, providing the opportunity for new people to quickly get plugged in and connected while allowing others to simply take a break when life gets tough. To help you decide which group to join, please consider our four styles of Life Groups.
Bible study – Go through a specific book in the Bible or several.
Sermon-based – Each week, the Life Group host will receive a list of questions based on the sermon (the facilitator and group can also develop their own). The idea is to take what's preached into a deeper and more meaningful conversation. This allows people to ask questions they might have from the sermon, get clarification if they didn’t understand something, or share a golden nugget that others may have missed. Sermon-based groups promote togetherness by capturing the heart of DBC through pastoral preaching.
Parenting – Many people are seeking a Life Group where they can share, learn, study, and generate wisdom regarding parenting. Many parents are struggling, whether with a toddler, teenager, or young adult and wish to have others they can confide in. This style provides a way for growth and conversation regarding parenting. DBC will provide approved material.
Marriage – We can all agree that marriage is hard. The statics that we see are beyond shocking. What is the Church doing about it? DBC is committed to helping and serving all its people, no matter where they are spiritually. Whether a couple has been married for one year or sixty years, having a Life Group that focuses on marriage is a fantastic opportunity to inject God's truth into the lives of our church body! DBC will provide approved material.
The overall goal is to make disciples who make disciples, which happens best in small group settings, such as Life Groups. Please email our Life Group coordinator by clicking here to join a Life Group, ask how you can get connected, or to ask any other questions you might have.
